Welcome to the First Edition of The Tactical Brief
Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Tactical Brief, the official newsletter of Division Command Training.
At Division Command Training, our mission is to help firefighters, company officers, chief officers, and instructors develop the leadership, decision-making, and operational skills needed to succeed in an increasingly complex emergency response environment. Through our philosophy of Where Strategy Meets Tactics, we believe that professional growth requires individuals who are proactive in their preparation, engaged in their development, and committed to continuous improvement.
The Tactical Brief was created to extend that mission beyond the classroom. It serves as a platform to share upcoming Division Command Training courses and open enrollment opportunities, lessons from the fireground and training environment, insights from conferences and professional events, discussions on emerging fire service challenges, and current research and information that can help us become more effective leaders and practitioners.
The fire service continues to evolve. New technologies, changing hazards, evolving tactics, and lessons learned from incidents across the country require us to continuously evaluate our knowledge, challenge our assumptions, and refine our approach. The firefighters and officers who will lead the future of our profession are those who embrace lifelong learning and remain committed to improving themselves and their organizations.
Our goal with The Tactical Brief is not simply to announce training opportunities, but to create a resource that encourages critical thinking, meaningful discussion, and professional development throughout every stage of a firefighter’s career.
Thank you for being part of this first edition and for joining us in this commitment to learning and growth. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Proactive. Engaged. Committed.
